From their unique band name to performing in front of the Confederate flag, Lynyrd Skynyrd made sure they made an impact on the Southern rock scene in the 1970s. 


Their hit "Free Bird" inadvertently became the song of Vietnam War memes, and "Sweet Home Alabama" is still a juke box favorite around the country. 


Tragically, none of the original band members are alive today, partially due to a 1977 plane crash, but the band still performs with new members to this day.
